Changes related to childbirth or hospital stays for mother or baby
Changing your check-in date because of the timing of the birth, or because mother or baby remain in hospital longer, is free of charge. Shortening your stay for the same reason is also free of a cancellation fee.
About the revised dates
We adjust the revised dates as far as room availability allows. We may be unable to offer the dates or number of nights you hope for; we may split the stay; and we may ask you to move rooms during your stay.
If we cannot offer the number of nights you hoped for, you stay for the nights we can provide, and no cancellation fee applies to that shortening.
Date changes after the discharge date is fixed following the birth, and changes for reasons other than the timing of the birth or an extended hospital stay for mother or baby, are governed by the standard rules below.
Other cases with no charge
- One date change due to mother or baby being unwell (early-booking discount maintained)
- Hospital admission of mother or baby on a doctor’s decision (medical certificate required)
- Natural disaster or major public-transport disruption (official documentation required)
- Date changes, shortened stays or cancellations for our own reasons
Last-minute notice: actual meal-preparation costs only
- From 10:00 on the day before to 10:00 on the day: meal-preparation fee of ¥12,000 (tax incl.) for the first night
- After 10:00 on the day: 100% of the first night’s charge (we do not also charge the meal-preparation fee)
When the change is for our own reasons, we do not charge a meal-preparation fee either.
When the change is for your own convenience
Amounts are based on the tax-inclusive booking total actually payable after early-booking and other discounts.

Where the cancellation fee is 100%, we do not charge a separate meal-preparation fee of ¥12,000. Nights you actually stay remain at the early-booking discounted rate.
How remaining days are counted
We count from the original booking date
The cancellation rate is based on the original arrival date you first applied for, whether or not dates have been changed. It is not counted from the revised arrival date. Once the original booking date has passed, the fee is 100%.
Example: Original check-in 1 September → free change to 1 October because the birth was later → you cancel for your own reasons on 20 September. The base date is 1 September, so the fee is 100%. Where the change is due to childbirth, hospital stays or a doctor’s decision, the waivers above take priority.
For shortening a stay, we count from the first night you give up
For shortening a stay, the timing of notice is judged from the first night being cancelled. The “count from the original booking date” rule above does not apply.
Example: If on 4 October you ask to give up nights from 18 October onwards, that is treated as 14 days before.
The arrival day counts as day 0, and the day before as 1 day before. For email, LINE or the reservation system, the time shown in our receipt records is the time of notice.
Applies to new bookings made on or after 24 September 2026. Earlier bookings follow the policy in force at the time of booking.
