Payment
Confirming your booking and registering a credit card
- To confirm your booking, we ask you to register your credit card details.
- The registered card is used to pay any cancellation fee that becomes due. It is not used for the accommodation charge or for extension charges.
- For cancellation fees, please see the “Cancellation fees” section.
Accommodation charge
- Payment is by bank transfer or in cash. Credit cards cannot be used for the accommodation charge.
- If paying by bank transfer, please transfer the amount no later than 14 days before your arrival date.
- Where fewer than 14 days remain until your arrival at the time your booking is confirmed, please transfer the amount within 24 hours of confirmation.
- We send payment instructions when your booking is confirmed. We invoice the accommodation charge alone first, regardless of which optional services you may go on to book.
- If you would like to pay in cash, please tell us when you book. We take the full amount at the start of check-in.
Charges for extending your stay
- Payment is by bank transfer or in cash. Credit cards and PayPay cannot be used for extension charges.
- Once your extension is confirmed, we will let you know the amount and the payment deadline.
- If paying by bank transfer, please do so by the deadline we specify; if paying in cash, please settle at your final check-out.
- In either case, payment must be completed before you leave.
Charges for optional services
- Optional services are not included in the accommodation charge. We invoice only those you actually receive; where a date could not be arranged, or you cancel, no charge arises.
- Everything is settled together, once, at check-out.
- Payment is by cash, PayPay or credit card.
- We do not invoice after you have left, except where circumstances leave us no choice — a communications failure, or a charge missed in error.
Refunds
As a rule, refunds are made by the same method as the original payment: by bank transfer where you paid by transfer; in cash where you paid in cash; and, for PayPay and credit cards, as a refund against the original transaction.
Changes to and cancellation of the accommodation contract
If a guest cancels all or part of the accommodation contract, we will charge the cancellation fees set out below.
We do not process changes of stay dates for the guest’s own convenience. If you wish to change dates, you must cancel the existing accommodation contract and then apply for a new one. In that case, a cancellation fee applies to the cancelled contract, and the new contract is charged at the rates applicable at the time of the new application.
Early-booking and other discounts are reassessed against the application date of the new contract and its arrival date, and apply only where the conditions are met.
Cancellation fees
| When notice is given | Full cancellation of the contract | Reduction in nights |
|---|---|---|
| Up to 31 days before | Free | Free |
| From 30 to 15 days before | 30% of the booking total | 30% of the nights cancelled |
| From 14 to 8 days before | 50% of the booking total | 50% of the nights cancelled |
| From 7 days before to 10:00 on the day before | 80% of the booking total | 50% of the nights cancelled |
| From 10:00 on the day before to 10:00 on the day | 100% of the booking total | 50% of the nights cancelled plus a meal-preparation fee of ¥12,000 (tax incl.) for the first night |
| After 10:00 on the day, or no contact | 100% of the booking total | 100% of the first cancelled night, and 50% of any further cancelled nights |
The booking total and night charges above are the tax-inclusive amounts actually payable after early-booking and other discounts.
How the cancellation rate is calculated
The cancellation rate is calculated from the original arrival date (the first arrival date you applied for; the same applies below) according to the number of days remaining until that date. Even if dates have been changed, the count is from the original arrival date, not the new one. Once the original arrival date has passed, the cancellation fee is 100% of the booking total.
For shortening a stay, the timing of notice is judged from the first night being cancelled; the rule above does not apply.
Where the fee for full cancellation is 100% of the booking total, we do not charge a separate meal-preparation fee.
Remaining days are counted with the arrival day as day 0 and the day before as 1 day before.
Leaving early after check-in
If, after check-in, you leave earlier than planned for your own reasons, we charge as follows.
- Notice by 10:00 on that day: 50% of the unused nights thereafter
- Notice after 10:00 on that day: 100% of the first unused night, and 50% of any further unused nights
In addition, the prescribed charges apply for meals, services and items already provided or arranged individually.
Date changes related to childbirth
If the arrival date is changed because of the timing of the birth, or because mother or baby remain in hospital longer, we do not charge a cancellation fee, regardless of how many times this occurs. The same applies to any reduction in nights that follows.
Revised dates are arranged according to room availability. We may be unable to offer the dates or number of nights you hope for; we may split the stay across periods; and we may ask you to change rooms during your stay. If we cannot offer the number of nights you hoped for, you stay for the nights we can provide, and no cancellation fee applies to that reduction.
Date changes after the discharge date is fixed following the birth, and changes for reasons other than those above, are governed by “Changes to and cancellation of the accommodation contract” and “Cancellation fees”.
One date change due to mother or baby being unwell is free of charge. For a second or later change, you cancel the existing contract and apply again.
Where a change is free under the above, any early-booking or other discount that applied to the original contract is maintained.
Waivers for force majeure and similar cases
We will waive all or part of the cancellation fee in either of the following cases.
- Where a doctor decides that mother or baby must be admitted to hospital (or similar), making the stay impossible, and a medical certificate is presented
- Where a natural disaster, major public-transport disruption or other cause beyond the guest’s control makes the stay impossible, and supporting documentation is presented
If, for our own reasons, we cannot provide the contracted dates or number of nights, we do not charge for changing dates, reducing nights or cancelling the contract.
Meal-preparation fees for last-minute changes
Even where a cancellation fee is waived under the above, if ingredients have been purchased and cooking prepared, we charge as follows.
- Notice from 10:00 on the day before arrival to 10:00 on the arrival day: meal-preparation fee of ¥12,000 (tax incl.) for the first night
- Notice after 10:00 on the arrival day: 100% of the first night’s charge
Where we charge 100% of the first night, we do not also charge the meal-preparation fee.
This clause does not apply when the change is for our own reasons.
Bookings made before the birth
Where you book before the birth, the arrival date is set provisionally against the due date. Where a planned delivery, epidural or caesarean schedule is already fixed, that schedule is used instead.
If dates need adjusting to the actual birth or discharge date, “Date changes related to childbirth” applies.
When notice is treated as received
The time at which cancellation or change notice is received is as follows.
- By email, LINE or the reservation system: the time shown in our receipt records
- By telephone: the time we actually take the call
Outside business hours, please notify us by email, LINE or the reservation system.
Refunds when a cancellation fee is settled
Where settling a cancellation fee results in a refund, the bank transfer fee is borne by the guest and deducted from the refund amount.
■ Accommodation tax
Under the Osaka Prefecture ordinance, an accommodation tax based on the room rate is payable in addition to your bill.
| Room rate (per person per night) | Tax |
|---|---|
| ¥5,000 to under ¥15,000 | ¥200 |
| ¥15,000 to under ¥20,000 | ¥400 |
| ¥20,000 and above | ¥500 |
*The tax is levied on the room rate per person per night. *No tax is charged for children sharing a bed. *Where the tax law is amended, the amended provisions apply.
